What's on Offer?

Location: Aramac.

Classification Level: Level 3 (Casual) of the Queensland Local Government Industry (Stream B) Award – State 2017 - Section 5.

Wage: Hourly Rate of $40.24 + 12% Superannuation and relevant approved allowances.

Payment of Wages: Council employees are paid fortnightly.

Hours of work: Dependent on work availability.

Key Responsibilities:

In this role, you will be responsible for:

  • Maintain a strong customer focus by providing superior service to ensure all stakeholders receive satisfactory outcomes in their dealing with Council.
  • Collaborate in a team environment by exchanging information, gathering ideas, and cooperating with internal and external stakeholders to contribute positively to successful service delivery.
  • Maintain the swimming pool complex to a high standard by performing maintenance tasks.
  • Ensure the safety and well-being of patrons by enforcing pool rules and regulations.
  • Maintain order and control of pool users, emphasising safety and proper use of facilities.
  • Administer first aid and resuscitation as needed.
  • Ensure the safe and efficient operations of the facility.
  • Keep qualifications current and complete required documentation.

Successful Applicant Requirements

  • Minimum twelve (12) months experience in operation of public swimming pools working as a Pool Attendant / Lifeguard, or in the aquatic industry.
  • Current Queensland class 'C' Driver Licence.
  • Current First Aid Certificate, including Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation Accreditation (HLTAID001, HLTAID002, HLTAID003).
  • Proven ability to work independently under limited supervision while exercising initiative, judgement, and enthusiasm, as well as contributing positively to team operations.
  • Demonstrated experience in a forward-facing customer centric environment.
  • Knowledge of pool testing and correctional procedures, including safe handling and storage of chemicals.
  • Previous experience with routine plant room maintenance is desirable.
