About the Role:
Are you a skilled grader operator or an experienced machinery operator looking to step up into a grader? Barcaldine Regional Council is looking for a seasoned grader operator or passionate trainee to join our Alpha works crew. In this role, you will be essential in ensuring our road maintenance and construction projects are completed to a high standard.

Location: This position is based in Alpha with Regional work and travel as required.
Classification Level: Minimum Level 6 of the Queensland Local Government Industry (Stream B) Award – State 2017 and the Barcaldine Regional Council Certified Agreement 2022.
Wage: Minimum base salary of $69,612.92 per annum + Superannuation (up to 12%) and relevant approved allowances.
Payment of Wages: Council employees are paid fortnightly.
Hours of work: 76 hours over 9 days with a rostered day off (RDO) every fortnight.
Leave: Five (5) weeks annual leave per annum + 17.5% loading. Fifteen (15) days Personal Leave (sick leave) per annum.

What You'll Need:
- Minimum QLD Class 'C' Drivers Licence (MR Licence highly regarded);
- Current Construction Card (White/Blue Card);
- Minimum two (2) years' experience operating Graders up to final trim standard, or proven machinery operation experience;
- Strong understanding of construction and maintenance project requirements;
- Ability to read and interpret construction plans and specifications;
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
- Proven ability to safely and effectively perform hazardous manual tasks, such as lifting, digging, shovelling, and using powered tools.

The Barcaldine Region is located in central west Queensland approximately 440km west of Rockhampton, covering an area of 53,677 sq km with an estimated population of 2,900 people.
