Do you want to provide essential services that support your community whilst developing your professional skills? We have an exciting opportunity for anyone looking to begin a traineeship with us. We are seeking driven and enthusiastic individuals who want to develop their skills and kickstart their career by developing hands on skills that will ensure their success.
At Barcaldine Regional Council (BRC) every employee plays an important part in ensuring we work together to achieve positive outcomes for our community.
To help us achieve this we are seeking applications from enthusiastic and proactive individuals wishing to commence a traineeship with us in 2026.
A traineeship with BRC provides an opportunity for the right people to embark on a lifetime career. You will be provided the opportunity to participate in a knowledgeable, well-disciplined team, learning valuable career building skills along the way. Preferred candidates would be motivated, have a current driver's licence, and be keen to learn.
We are currently offering:
- Rural Lands Officer Trainee
- Water Treatment Technician Trainee
- Plant and Fleet Administration Trainee
Essential Criteria:
- Safety culture and willingness to follow safe work procedures
- Have completed year 10 minimum / year 12 preferred (prior to commencement)
- High level of numerical ability
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment with the ability to work unsupervised as required
- Flexibility to adapt to varied work hours and rosters
- Current drivers’ licence and own transport
