About the role:
Barcaldine Regional Council is looking for a motivated and experienced RMPC Officer to coordinate and manage our Council RMPC works. Within this role you will be responsible for liaising with Works Supervisors, Transport and Main Roads, and other relevant parties to schedule, monitor, and coordinate RMPC works.
Key Responsibilities:
- Monitor and assess the condition of main roads through regular inspections, identifying maintenance and repair needs.
- Record and prioritise road defects using Reflect to support the development of planned works programs.
- Work collaboratively with Senior Works Supervisors to plan, schedule, and track the delivery of maintenance and construction activities.
- Coordinate contractor engagement when required, including reviewing quotes, overseeing performance, and ensuring compliance with standards.
- Manage the delivery of works to ensure quality outcomes, adherence to budgets, timelines, and contractual obligations.
- Prepare and submit post-completion claims and reports to the Department of Transport and Main Roads (TMR) to support cost recovery processes.
- Ensure compliance with WHS and environmental protection standards.
- Conduct and document site inspections, risk assessments, and apply control measures.
- Conduct audits, investigations, and prepare incident and insurance reports.

Location: Based in Barcaldine with regional travel as required.
Classification Level: Level 6.1 of the Queensland Local Government Industry (Stream A) Award - State 2017 and Barcaldine Regional Council Certified Agreement 2022.
Wage: Minimum base salary of $95,048.60 per annum + 12% Superannuation contribution and any additional relevant benefits.
Payment of Wages: Council employees are paid fortnightly.
Hours of work: 76 hours over 9 days with a rostered day off (RDO) every fortnight.
Leave: Five (5) weeks annual leave per annum + 17.5% loading. Fifteen (15) days Personal Leave (sick leave) per annum.

What we are looking for:
- Certificate IV in Civil Construction or equivalent qualification.
- Traffic Management Certificate.
- Current Queensland class 'C' Driver Licence.
- Current General Construction Induction Card (White/Blue Card) or equivalent.
- Proven experience in Civil Construction.
- Strong knowledge of RMPC (TMR) processes, specifications, and requirements.
- Experience with Vendor Panel and Reflect, highly valued.

The Barcaldine Region is located in central west Queensland approximately 440km west of Rockhampton, covering an area of 53,677 sq km with an estimated population of 2,900 people.
The Regional Council is made up of the former Shires of Aramac, Barcaldine and Jericho including the towns of Alpha, Jericho, Barcaldine, Aramac and Muttaburra.
The region is one of the largest cattle producing regions in Central Western Queensland and also has a productive sheep, wool and macropod harvesting industry with the prospect of mining.
