Bathurst is a leading regional centre of creative excellence and Bathurst Regional Council, has a rare opportunity for the right person to lead a dedicated team, provide strategic direction and operational oversight of the Bathurst Memorial Entertainment Centre (BMEC).

The successful applicant will deliver and build upon the “Bathurst Region a Cultural Vision 2036”.  The position will also be responsible for the Bathurst Arts Residency NSW (BARN) facility once open (late 2024).

The position reports directly to Council’s Director Cultural & Community Services.

Key Requirements

  • Degree – Bachelor of Arts (Performing) / Arts Administration, or similar, and/or equivalent experience or
  • Previous experience in the successful management and control of the artistic, financial and operations of a performing arts facility, preferably of a similar size
  • Supervisory skills to manage and motivate staff in an effective and constructive manner
  • An ability to effectively and inclusively engage and cooperate with a broad range of community groups, commercial hirers (artistic and non-artistic) and individuals.
  • Current Class C driver’s licence or above
  • Senior First Aid

This position requires a pre employment health assessment which includes a functional, audio and drug & alcohol screen.

Salary: $2,025.52 to $2,128.06 per week + Leaseback Vehicle + Superannuation

Position Status: Permanent full time 

Hours of work: 38 hours per week, Monday to Friday (some out of hours work including evenings and weekends may be required).
