About the role

The Revenue Officer - Rates plays an important role in the raising and collection of the income required to provide the broad range of services to our community.  The main purpose of the position is to provide polite, effective and efficient service to the public in relation to enquiries, advice and complaints.

 

The Revenue Officer is a team player and is involved in the timely and accurate processing of all rates transactions and supports the management of the revenue section including cashier relief and assistance with accounts receivable and water billing, pensioner rebates, change of address maintenance and property sales transfers. 

 

Essential Criteria 

  • Demonstrated ability to explain and converse in a friendly and mature manner with the public and other staff
  • Ability to present a positive and professional image
  • Basic knowledge of land title and conveyancing concepts
  • Basic understanding of accounting journals
  • Proficiency in the operation of various computer packages including a well-developed understanding of Microsoft office programs, Adobe and internet and intranet-based data administration applications and records management systems
  • Experience in updating and maintaining databases and registers
  • Good cash handling and reconciliation skills
  • Ability to work as part of a team

Salary: $1,190.10 to $1,250.24 per week + 12% superannuation

Position Status: Permanent – Full-time

Hours of work:  35 hours per week - RDO every three weeks
