About the role

Looking for hands-on work where no two days are the same? Join our team and help deliver essential water and sewer services for the community of Bathurst.

 We’re seeking a motivated Water and Wastewater Plant Operator - Labourer to support the maintenance of water and wastewater infrastructure. If you enjoy outdoor work, problem-solving this could be the role for you.

Key functions include:

  1. The operation and maintenance of specialised vacuum excavation plant; and,
  2. Supporting the maintenance, repair and construction of Council’s water and wastewater infrastructure.

The successful applicant will be able to work in a team environment while carrying out a variety of tasks.

Essential Criteria 

  • Current NSW Class HR Drivers Licence
  • WHS Construction/Induction Certificate
  • Adequate numeracy and literacy skills to fulfill the requirements of the position
  • Ability to work on a rotating on-call roster, including nights and weekend work
  • Willingness and ability to be trained and qualified to operate Council’s vacuum excavation truck
  • Demonstrated experience in and ability to perform a range of physical labouring duties
  • Ability to obtain Confined Space certification

Salary: $1,118.30  to $1,175.00 per week + 12% superannuation

Position Status: Permanent – Full-time

Hours of work:  38 hours per week with an RDO every second week and the ability to work on weekends and public holidays as scheduled.
