About the Role
An exciting opportunity exists for a passionate, dedicated and suitably qualified waste education officer to ensure a successful transition of waste services from the current service model to one that aligns with the State Government’s Recycling Victoria Policy and Council’s Waste Management Plan.
Reporting to the Coordinator Resource Recovery, this position will play an integral role in delivering Councils waste services transition in relation to the introduction of new waste reforms identified in the State Government’s Recycling Victoria: a new economy Plan and Policy as well as implementing community education campaigns to facilitate the introduction of new or changed waste services.
About the Successful Candidate
- A tertiary qualification in communications, psychology, science, environment or a relevant field along with practical experience, or lesser formal qualifications with substantial relevant experience.
- Sound technical knowledge and understanding of the waste sector, waste education, resource recovery and circular economy principles.
- Strong communication skills.
