About the Role 

The Arts and Culture Coordinator is responsible for supporting Baw Baw Shire’s arts and cultural initiatives through community development, engagement and liaison and outreach activities.
This position will oversee the visual arts, marketing, audience engagement, community cultural relationships, sponsorships and business development opportunities at the West Gippsland Arts Centre (WGAC).

About the Successful Candidate

This is a creative leadership opportunity for an individual who is passionate and committed to delivering cultural programs and projects that stimulate community engagement with our services.
Your expertise will include experience in the principles of Community/Cultural Development, community engagement, sound financial acumen and the capacity to propose and implement ideas for improving efficiency and work practice. You must also have the ability to build strong partnerships within the organisation and community.


Essential criteria:


• Tertiary qualification in Arts / Arts Administration / Cultural Development or related field and/or commensurate demonstrated experience working in an arts or non-profit environment in lieu of formal qualifications.
• Substantial experience in managing staff; planning and evaluating department activities in an arts and culture context.
• Demonstrated project management and contract management skills, including the ability to develop and monitor partnership and service agreements.
