As a senior role within the Civil Asset Planning team, we are seeking an enthusiastic and experienced Senior Road Infrastructure Engineer with a desire to shape the strategic direction of the Council's service delivery by creating and implementing important road-related infrastructure policies, strategies, plans, and programs. This role is crucial in ensuring that infrastructure projects meet community needs, offer value for money, and generate ongoing benefits for the community.

About the Role

The role is essential for maximising external funding opportunities to address the future transport needs of a growing community. Balancing increasing urban growth with the broader rural road network, the role presents an exciting opportunity to establish a robust asset management framework. This facilitates the communication of fair and equitable future infrastructure programs to both the Council and the community, guiding the ongoing management of the extensive road network in the long term.

This role involves transitioning towards a more planned and proactive approach to ensuring safe and accessible roads and pathways. This role will conduct investigations, offer engineering advice, and provide efficient services across the various road and footpath related issues including future planning, strategies, infrastructure programs and other infrastructure related projects.

 

About the Successful Candidate

You will have extensive experience in local government engineering services. You will hold a Degree in Civil Engineering or an equivalent qualification, and registration in accordance with Professional Engineers Registration Act 2019, or the ability to become registered. Your ability to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing, will be crucial as you collaborate with internal teams, external stakeholders, and members of the community. You will also have the ability to prioritise workload and conflicting priorities within a busy environment.
