We have a rare opportunity for an experienced Senior Strategic Planner who may be looking for their ideal work life balance, to join our friendly and collaborative Strategic Planning team. Reporting to the Coordinator Strategic Planning, you will be responsible for providing specialist advice to the community and key stakeholders regarding urban and rural land use, development and strategies for Baw Baw that support the planning of new and existing communities.

About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Senior Strategic Planner to join our thriving team. You will be working in a positive, supportive and flexible environment, with opportunities to continually develop new skills. 

Joining the Planning and Development team, you will be responsible for providing your expert advice to the community and key stakeholders regarding urban and rural land use, development and strategies for Baw Baw that support the planning of new and existing communities.

This role will see you build strong relationships with key stakeholders, project manage, lead planning scheme amendments and deliver cross organisational planning solutions to ensure strategic and integrated outcomes for Baw Baw Shire relating to the urban environment.

A key element of the role will be to develop and implement policies, strategies, plans and procedures to ensure the future sustainable growth and development of the Baw Baw Shire Council, in line with State Government and Council objectives.

 

About the Successful Candidate

The successful applicant will hold relevant qualifications in urban planning or a similar field and have demonstrated experience working on policy development, strategy implementation and project management.
You will have knowledge and an understanding of the planning scheme amendment process and other relevant legislation.

Excellent communication skills will see you provide high-level professional planning advice to the Strategic Planning team, Statutory Planning team, Priority Development team, other internal departments, Council and the community.
