About the Role
The Baw Baw Shire is expected to experience +50% population growth over the next 20 years.
In recognition that significant new community infrastructure will be required to support that growth, Baw Baw Shire Council has recently established a Major Projects team.
As a foundation member of this new team you will have the opportunity to lead and influence to ensure that projects are tailored to Council’s vision and community needs and are planned, designed, and delivered in accordance with absolute best practice. The work will be diverse. The project’s range in size, type and complexity and are all interesting, challenging and will be ultimately rewarding.
You will establish and lead project teams across multiple disciplines from within and outside the organization and will get to put your stamp on community infrastructure projects that will help to shape the future of Baw Baw Shire.

About the Successful Candidate
The successful candidates will be experienced Project Managers. People from Engineering, Project Management, Construction Management, Architecture backgrounds could all fit the role well.
Local Government experience is desirable but not essential.
The key attributes to be successful in these roles will be determination, positivity, versatility, excellent communication skills and a customer focus.
Proficiency in technical and regulatory aspects of construction and civil infrastructure are foundation skills that are needed.
On top of this, the roles will require experience and high-level capability in the areas of: community and user group consultation, stakeholder identification and management, design management, procurement, contract and contractor management, OH&S, Environment, risk control, reporting, funding and government relations, budgeting, continuous improvement and staff mentoring and coaching (for the Senior role).
