Baw Baw Shire Council is seeking a motivated and detail orientated individual to join our Planning and Development team as an Administration Support Officer. In this role, you will provide essential administrative and customer service support to ensure the efficient processing of statutory planning matters.

About the Role
As the Administration Support Officer – Statutory Planning, you will play a key role in supporting the Statutory Planning team through a wide range of administrative functions. Your responsibilities will include:
- Performing confidential administrative tasks, ensuring information is managed securely and appropriately.
- Managing general correspondence, data entry, scanning, photocopying, and document handling.
- Providing high-quality customer service to both internal and external stakeholders—via phone, in person, and written communications.
- Assisting planners with the administration of planning permit applications and associated processes.
- Supporting VCAT-related administrative duties.
- Ensuring data accuracy within corporate information systems and proper handling of public-facing documentation.
- Contributing to the maintenance and improvement of council systems aligned with your experience.
- Promoting and adhering to a safe and healthy work environment.
- Supporting broader team goals through flexibility and a proactive approach to additional tasks as required.
About the Successful Candidate
To thrive in this role you will have:
- A Certificate III in Business (Administration) or experience in an administrative role.
- Strong customer service skills with the ability to effectively engage with a diverse range of people.
- Initiative and problem-solving skills to manage daily administrative challenges.
- High attention to detail, accurate data entry, and strong written communication skills.
- Excellent time management skills with the ability to prioritise tasks and work within tight deadlines.
- Competence with Microsoft Office, particularly Word and Excel.
