About the Role

The Senior Arborist will play a pivotal role in modernising the organisation’s tree management practices, helping to align them with the highest standards of contemporary arboriculture. With a strong foundation of technical knowledge and practical experience, the successful candidate will work independently to assess, manage, and enhance the health and safety of tree assets across open spaces and roadsides. They will drive improvements in data collection, risk assessment, and decision-making processes through the use of modern technologies and evidence-based practices. As a trusted expert, the Senior Arborist will provide clear, professional advice to internal teams and external stakeholders, supporting strategic planning, compliance, and long-term sustainability. This role offers the opportunity to influence positive change and contribute to a forward-thinking, best-practice approach to urban forest management.

About the Successful Candidate

The ideal candidate for the Senior Arborist role will be a self-motivated and passionate professional with a strong commitment to excellence in arboriculture. They will thrive working independently, taking initiative to identify opportunities for improvement and implement best-practice solutions in tree management. With a deep understanding of tree health, structure, and risk assessment, they will confidently apply their knowledge to both routine inspections and complex issues. Their passion for urban forestry will drive them to stay current with industry advancements and contribute to the continuous improvement of practices, systems, and policies. Strong communication skills and a collaborative mindset will enable them to provide expert advice and build trusted relationships with colleagues, stakeholders, and the wider community.
