About the Role
The Road Maintenance Team is at the front line of ensuring that Council’s road network is maintained to a high standard for the benefit of the community.
Reporting to the Coordinator Road Maintenance, you’ll be responsible for annual recurring programs and standalone projects that will improve and extend the lifespan of Council’s road network and related infrastructure. Responsibilities will include all stages of project management, including planning, procurement, delivery, during and post-works audits, and project close-out including capitalisation and handover. You will work closely with other members of the Road Maintenance team, Council’s infrastructure planning and asset teams, and others across the organisation deliver holistic improvements in line with the allocated budgets.
About the Successful Candidate
We are seeking a Civil Engineer with 5-plus years’ engineering experience in road and civil construction and/or maintenance. Experience in road surfacing practices including spray sealing and asphalt is beneficial. Using strong engineering judgement, attention to detail and time management, you will be outcome focused with an eye for continuous improvement. Excellent communication skills are a must, as the role interacts with a wide variety of internal and external stakeholders, including but not limited to other council departments, councillors, contractors, consultants, and the broader community. A current Victorian Driver’s Licence is a requirement for the role.
