About the Role

The position assumes responsibility for the development and production of high quality, engaging digital communications, using multiple channels and platforms to ensure effective and prompt digital communications with stakeholders.

Work collaboratively with the Communications Team to transform the online service experience for Council’s customers by designing and developing digital services and content that is accessible, effective and provides a positive user experience.

Work across high volume digital communication platforms to grow Council’s online audience, promote Council services, raise community awareness, and maximise online community engagement and interactivity with Council.


About the Successful Candidate

To be successful in this position, you will have experience in:

  • Managing and monitoring social media platforms, including the creation of content (photo/video/digital graphics), post scheduling, reporting and paid advertising across Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn and YouTube.
  • Coordinating the delivery of Facebook Live events, including the development of presentations and information for participants.
  • Scoping, filming, developing, editing, and producing video content in Premiere Pro for online use.
  • Creating, sourcing, uploading and administering content to Council’s website and online engagement platforms.
  • Experience using programs and software such as Open Cities, Engagement HQ, Meta for social media, Adobe Creative Suite, and iSentia.
  • Maintaining online publishing practices for website content and undertake training of authors as required. 
  • Creating and developing online forms, surveys and workflows to improve business efficiencies. 
  • Undertaking periodical reviews and audits of Council’s corporate website.
  • Developing digital campaigns and provide expertise to colleagues throughout the organisation on online engagement and promotional opportunities.
  • Researching emerging technologies and trends in digital channels and make recommendations on how these can enhance Council’s communications.
