About the Role

This 12-month fixed-term role offers a unique opportunity to shape the future of our fast-growing communities. You will take ownership of large-scale development applications, engage closely with applicants, stakeholders, and internal teams, and work independently on high-profile, complex planning challenges.

As a successful Growth Area Planner, you will:
•    Confidently assess and manage large-scale growth area planning applications
•    Provide expert, solution-focused planning advice
•    Build strong, constructive relationships with applicants, stakeholders, and colleagues
•    Ensure development proposals align with our strategic growth objectives

About the Successful Candidate

We are looking for a qualified planner with significant experience in Growth Area planning—someone who is both a strategic thinker and a skilled communicator, able to navigate the complexities of large-scale development.

You balance technical expertise with practical problem-solving, transforming growth pressures into well-planned, sustainable outcomes. You collaborate effectively with applicants, stakeholders, and colleagues, confidently leading complex projects from inception to completion.
