About the Role

The Baw Baw Shire is expected to experience +50% population growth over the next 20 years.
In recognition that significant new community infrastructure will be required to support that growth, Baw Baw Shire Council are looking to augment the Infrastructure Delivery and Major Projects team with this senior role.
The successful candidate will have the opportunity to lead and influence ensuring that projects are tailored to Council’s vision and community needs and are planned, designed, and delivered in accordance with absolute best practice. The work will be diverse, range in size, type and complexity and are all interesting, challenging and will be ultimately rewarding.
You will establish and lead project teams across multiple disciplines from within and outside the organisation and will get to put your stamp on community infrastructure projects that will help to shape the future of Baw Baw Shire.

About the Successful Candidate

The successful candidate could be from a range of backgrounds including but not limited to: Project Managers, Project Engineers, Construction Management, Architecture, and Design Management.

Local Government experience is desirable but not essential.

The key attributes to be successful in these roles will be experience, determination, positivity, versatility, excellent communication skills and a customer outcome focus. Proficiency in technical and regulatory aspects of construction and civil infrastructure are foundation skills that are needed.

The role requires demonstrated experience and capability in the areas of project derisking, the Plan:Design:Deliver philosophy, community and user group engagement and consultation, stakeholder identification and management, design management, procurement, contract and contractor management/administration, OH&S, Environment, risk management, reporting, funding and government relations, budgeting, continuous improvement and staff mentoring and coaching.
