About the Role

Our team is looking for two highly motivated, creative and enthusiastic Comms professionals to join our high performing team on a fixed-term basis until November 2021 (with possibility of extension). 

Do you have proven experience producing newsworthy, informative and profile-building communications that can enhance Council’s public reputation?

Do you have expertise developing and implementing internal comms that can inform and engage a 400+ person organisation and help drive our thriving positive culture?

If you answered yes to either or both of those questions, we want to hear from you!

As a member of our Strategic Comms team, you’ll be responsible for media relations, Council publications and Comms collateral.

Day to day you’ll handle media enquiries, draft media releases, create communications plans and execute creative campaigns aimed at external and internal stakeholders.

Your advice will have influence at the highest level.

You’ll regularly deal directly with the CEO, Executive, Councillors, the Mayor, state and local media and a variety of high-level stakeholders.

 

About the Successful Candidate

The successful candidate will have a demonstrable knack for convincing communications, effective stakeholder management and creative, critical thinking.

You’ll be comfortable diving in and taking the initiative. You’ll possess a willingness to learn and an appetite for new challenges.

You’ll thrive in a fast-paced environment, take changing priorities in stride, and be able to stay positively on target even when under pressure.
