About the opportunity

We are looking for a motivated individual to join our Development Services Engineering Team on a permanent, full-time basis. The role is responsible for assessing engineering aspects of a wide range of development applications in a rapidly growing area.

In this role, you will work in a team to efficiently and effectively meet targets and deliver sound engineering outcomes and advice to our internal and external customers and ensure that new infrastructure assets are in accordance with Council's Development Control Plans, and Engineering Guidelines.

Qualifications and experience

Essential:

  • Relevant degree qualifications in a related field. e.g. Civil Engineering
  • Extensive relevant experience
  • Current class ‘C’ driver’s licence
  • Ability to work within a team environment
  • Knowledge of applicable legislation/regulations.

Desirable:

  • Working knowledge of the Environmental Planning and Assessment Act 1979, Local Government Act 1993 and Roads Act 1993
  • Excellent negotiation and problem-solving skills
  • Computer literate
  • Demonstrated commitment to customer service.

Remuneration and benefits

The salary and conditions of employment are in accordance with Blacktown City Council’s Enterprise Agreement.

  • Entry level for this position starts at $2,011.56 per week
  • 35-hour working week
