About the opportunity

We are seeking an experienced plumber to join our Building Construction and Maintenance team on a permanent, full-time basis. You will work among over 200 qualified tradespeople across multiple disciplines in Council to work towards delivering projects and maintaining Council’s assets.

With approximately 500 buildings owned by Council, you will be responsible for the plumbing and drainage maintenance of these buildings and other infrastructure. These buildings include commercial, industrial and domestic premises owned by Council.

You will provide advice, instruction and supervise the training of apprentice plumbers. TMV accreditation and experience in black flow and roof plumbing would be highly regarded.

Qualifications and experience

Essential:

• Minimum qualification for this position is a trade certificate
• Completion of a 4-year plumbing apprenticeship
• Class C Driver's licence.

Desirable:

• Post Trade or Advanced Certificate in a related area
• Plumbers Licence
• Knowledge of applicable legislation/regulations.

Remuneration and benefits

The salary and conditions of employment are in accordance with Blacktown City Council’s Enterprise Agreement.

• Entry level for this position starts at $1,265.47 per week
• 38-hour working week 
• Rostered day off (RDO) every fortnight
