About the opportunity

Our Community Facilities play a key role in resourcing the cohesion and inclusivity of our City. The Supervisor Community Facility Caretakers leads a high-performing team of around 9 staff in the operation and administration of our suite of community halls, centres and resource hubs.

Our community centres are vital components of their communities - they are places of connection and inclusion, where members of a local community can access support and services they require, and where they gather to build and celebrate community.

As the leader of the front-line team of Caretakers, you will possess the qualifications, experience and passion to inspire your staff to deliver extraordinary customer service. You will possess strong analytical and negotiation skills and have a proven record of delivering exceptional customer service.

As a senior member of our Community Facilities team, you will have the ability to support and enhance the quality of this important service.

Qualifications and experience

Essential:

  • A relevant tertiary qualification plus sound experience in a similar role including customer service, asset management or maintenance
  • Sound staff supervision experience.
  • Ability to work within a team environment and with minimal supervision.
  • Ability to coordinate logistics and operations across multiple locations with multiple staff and stakeholders.
  • Experience and willingness to perform manual tasks involving lifting, pushing, pulling and cleaning.
  • Computer literate in office applications and the ability to quickly learn corporate applications.
  • Current class C driver’s licence.

Desirable:

  • Current Senior First Aid Certificate or other WH&S related certificates.

Remuneration and benefits

The salary and conditions of employment are in accordance with Blacktown City Council’s Enterprise Agreement.

  • Entry level for this position starts at $1,663.50 per week
  • 35-hour working week 
  • Car allowance
