About the opportunity

Join our dynamic Kids' Early Learning team to provide a stimulating and supportive environment for school-age children during their before and after school hours. 

We’re looking for Casual OSHC Activity Assistants to work in one of our 3 OSHC and vacation care services. This role is responsible for the engagement of young people from 5-13 years through a high-quality learning, lifestyle, safety and fun education and activity program. We are looking for staff who have a willingness and excitement to build positive relationships and great outcomes with young people.

About Kids' Early Learning

Here at Council, we own and operate a childcare business, Kids’ Early Learning, with a portfolio of 27 childcare centres and over 70 family daycare educators.

Kids’ Early Learning has approximately 300 full-time, part-time and casual staff, and operates throughout the Blacktown local government area, serving over 1700 families and providing care and learning needs for their children.

Qualifications and experience

Essential:

  • Experience or willingness to work and engage with young people (5-13 years old)
  • Current certificate HLTAID011 Provide First Aid
  • Current certificate HLTAID009 Provide cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR)
  • Current certificate HLTAID012 Provide First Aid in an education and care setting or Anaphylaxis and Asthma Management Training certificate that meets requirements of the Education and Care Services National Law 2010 and Education and Care Services National Regulation 2018
  • Working with Children Check clearance valid for paid work (or willing to obtain before commencement).

Desirable:

  • Completed or working towards a qualification in a relevant field (Early Childhood Education and Care,
    Sport and Recreation, Youth Work, Social Sciences, Teaching, Community Services, Health)
  • Child Protection Certificate - Identify and Respond to Children and Young People at Risk
  • Computer literate using Microsoft Office and mobile applications
  • Demonstrated commitment to customer service
  • Ability to work within a team environment.

Remuneration and benefits

The salary and conditions of employment are in accordance with Blacktown City Council’s Enterprise Agreement.

  • Entry level for this position starts at $27.6463 per hour plus 25% casual loading 
  • Employee benefits such as leave entitlements (where applicable), 11% employer superannuation contribution payable to your nominated superannuation fund, Fitness Passport and gym membership discounts, and social clubs.
This position has been identified as child related work, in accordance with the Child Protection (Working with Children) Regulation 2013.
