About the opportunity

This is an exciting permanent, full-time opportunity for a suitably qualified professional to join our Governance team and process requests for information under the Government Information (Public Access) 2009 and Privacy and Personal Information Protection Act 1998.

Working in a high-performing team, an ideal candidate will have a background in the application of the Government Information (Public Access) Act 2009, the Privacy and Personal Information Protection Act 1998, Health Records and Information Privacy Act 2002, and the Public Interest Disclosure Act 2022. The role requires a self-starter who can manage a range of complex requests, including providing advice on policies and responsibilities under the Acts, and development of training material. Qualifications and experience

Essential:

  • Diploma or Associate Diploma in law or relevant field
  • Sound experience in application of the Government Information (Public Access) Act 2009 and sound knowledge of the Privacy and Personal Information Protection Act 1998, Health Records and Information Privacy Act 2002, and the Public Interest Disclosure Act 2022
  • Class “C” Drivers Licence.

Remuneration and benefits

The salary and conditions of employment are in accordance with Blacktown City Council’s Enterprise Agreement.

  • Entry level for this position starts at $1,506.24 per week
  • 35-hour working week 
  • Opportunity to participate in Council's flextime arrangement
