About the opportunity
We are looking for a professional Development Control Officer to join the Development Policy and Regulation team on a permanent full-time basis.
The successful candidate will assist in ensuring the effective delivery of land use and development to protect and enhance the natural and built environment.
In this role, you will perform inspections and evaluate matters associated with existing development and illegal land use, respond to compliance matters, and apply relevant legislation, codes, policies and procedures in a practical context.
Qualifications and experience
Essential:
- Experience in town planning, regulatory enforcement or compliance audits and able to demonstrate an understanding and ability to interact with these disciplines
- Class C driver’s licence.
Desirable:
- Experience in a local government environment and/or a good knowledge of local government functions and operations
- Tertiary qualifications relevant to the position i.e. Associate Diploma or Diploma qualification.
Remuneration and benefits
The salary and conditions of employment are in accordance with Blacktown City Council’s Enterprise Agreement.
- Entry level for this position starts at $1,663.50 per week
- 35-hour working week
