About the opportunity
Council has a new permanent role for a high-performing professional. We are seeking an experienced Grants Officer to join our Corporate Strategy and Performance team. In this role, you will be responsible for providing coordination of grant applications and reporting for Council, ensuring high standards of governance are applied, and helping staff across the organisation to identify and win government grants to fund community facilities.
Essential:
- The preferred qualification for this job is a Certificate, Advanced Certificate or Diploma in Administration or in a related field and/or suitable experience of 2-4 years in a similar role
- Demonstrated experience in grants programs or project administration
- Excellent organisational and administrative skills, including the capacity to work to deadlines and set priorities
- Good written and verbal communication skills
- Demonstrated ability to work with and support a wide range of customers at all levels of authority in a large organisation.
Desirable:
- Experience in functional administration of a corporate computer system module or application and user instruction and support
- Demonstrated understanding of grant funding criteria and successful approaches to securing funding in a Local Government environment
- Class C drivers licence.
Remuneration and benefits
The salary and conditions of employment are in accordance with Blacktown City Council’s Enterprise Agreement.
- Entry level for this position starts at $1,396.13 per week
- 35-hour working week
- Opportunity to participate in Council's flextime arrangement
