About the opportunity
This is an exciting permanent, full-time opportunity for a suitably qualified professional to lead and deliver our resource recovery programs in Blacktown City. The role leads a team of 4, providing outcomes and actions identified in our Waste and Resource Recovery Strategy 2022-2032, Clean Cities Strategy and Illegal Dumping Action Plan.

Qualifications and experience
Essential:
- Relevant degree qualification in an environmental or similar field
- Extensive local government experience and/or sound knowledge of and experience in the development of strategies and policies
- Experience in direct supervision of staff
- Demonstrated leadership, analytical and problem-solving skills
- Demonstrated project management skills including a proven record of delivering successful projects on time and within budget
- Strong and effective interpersonal, teamwork and customer experience skills
- Strong written and verbal communication skills and an ability to liaise with Council staff, contractors and the community
- Current class C driver's licence.
Desirable:
- Demonstrated contract management skills
- Strong investigation and analysis skills for reporting and efficiency project development.
Remuneration and benefits
The salary and conditions of employment are in accordance with Blacktown City Council’s Enterprise Agreement.
- Entry level for this position starts at $2,175.94 per week
- 35-hour working week
