About the opportunity

This is an exciting permanent, full-time opportunity for a suitably qualified professional to partner with business units across Blacktown City Council to provide records and information management solutions.

Working in a high performing team, an ideal candidate will have a background in records and information management, including experience in the operation of an Electronic Document Management System, particularly Content Manager, analysis and documentation of business processes and the development of information management business rules and procedures to support compliance with the State Records Act 1998.

The role requires a self-starter who is able to perform complex tasks with strong communication and negotiation skills and the ability to engage with various stakeholders. Experience in project delivery or change management practices is desirable.

Qualifications and experience

Essential:

  • Certificate IV in Recordkeeping or a related field
  • Solid experience and knowledge in the operation of an EDM system, combined with appropriate Information Technology skills to implement digitally driven records management solution
  • Demonstrated experience and knowledge of Records Management business rules, procedures, practices, and policy
  • Knowledge and demonstrated experience applying the NSW State Records Act 1998, associated standards and other relevant legislation
  • Demonstrated experience in completion of projects in the support of end users in the use of recordkeeping systems
  • Experience in the analysis and documentation of business processes leading to the development of appropriate information solutions and strategies
  • Strong communication and negotiation skills
  • Working experience with Content Manager.

Desirable:

  • System administrator knowledge of EDMS – Content Manager
  • Experience in project delivery and/or change management practices
  • High level computer literacy and ability to use a range of software products
  • Local government experience in a records management environment.

Remuneration and benefits

The salary and conditions of employment are in accordance with Blacktown City Council’s Enterprise Agreement.

  • Entry level for this position starts at $1,730.04 per week
  • 35-hour working week 
  • Opportunity to participate in Council's flextime arrangement
