About the opportunity
We are seeking a highly motivated Asset Management Engineer to join our Asset Planning and Support section on a permanent, full-time basis.
Your role will involve concentrating on the development industry to ensure the delivery of crucial infrastructure by preparing Works In Kind agreements. Additionally, you will be engaged in the rapidly evolving North West Sector, collaborating with a multi-disciplinary team to create the annual works program and the long-term infrastructure delivery plan.
You will contribute significantly to Council's Resourcing Strategy by consolidating knowledge of the North West sector into Council's Asset Management Plans to develop the most efficient delivery of infrastructure based on the financial constraints of the Long Term Financial Plan.
Qualifications and experience
Essential:
- Degree in Civil Engineering
- Minimum 5 years relevant experience
- Knowledge and experience of S7.11 Contribution Plan and relevant legislation and regulations
- Extensive experience in Microsoft Office Suite
- Current class C driver’s licence
- White card (general construction induction card)
- Knowledge and experience with the preparation of S7.11 works in kind and developer agreements
- Demonstrated experience in negotiating with external customers/stakeholders
- Demonstrated experience in the preparation of estimates for civil works.
Desirable:
- Understanding and knowledge of Local Government and other relevant legislation and procedures
- Knowledge in development application processes
- Experience in Geographic Information System (GIS)
- Project management and negotiation skills
- Solid understanding of Development from Greenfields to Urban form
- Knowledge in Development Control Plan
- Experience in site inspections and problem solving
- Ability to work within a team environment
- Excellent communication skills (oral and written).
Remuneration and benefits
The salary and conditions of employment are in accordance with Blacktown City Council’s Enterprise Agreement.
- Entry level for this position starts at $2,092.02 per week
- 35-hour working week
