About the opportunity
Ready to grow your career in turf management? We are looking for 2 enthusiastic Apprentice Greenkeeper BISP to join our dedicated team at Blacktown International Sports Park on term-contract, full-time basis for up to 4 years. In this hands-on role, you will attend and excel in your Certificate III Sports Turf Management studies at a leading Registered Training Organisation. You will apply your growing knowledge and skills to deliver high-quality work in line with your apprenticeship stage, gradually requiring less guidance as your competence blossoms.
An ideal candidate will be actively involved in the preparation, improvement, and maintenance of sports fields and turf cricket wickets, including minor landscaping. You will also develop expertise in operating and maintaining sports field irrigation systems and a range of small plant and equipment safely and efficiently. We will teach you to select and use the right tools and methods for every task. Safety is paramount, and you will work in full accordance with our safe working practices.
We expect you to strive for excellence in the quality and quantity of your work, diligently learn and apply new skills, and successfully complete all formal training. This role will contribute to broader parks maintenance, alongside specialised sports field and turf wicket care. Who can apply
- Applicants must not have completed a Certificate III qualification or above in a similar field
- Applicants who are motivated, enthusiastic, and committed to providing a high standard of customer service
- Applicants who have strong verbal and written communication skills
- Applicants must be an Australian citizen or be eligible to work in Australia (evidence required)
- Applicants of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander backgrounds are encouraged to apply.
