About the opportunity

We are seeking an experienced signwriter to join our Building Construction and Maintenance team on a permanent, full-time basis. You will join over 200 qualified tradespeople across our multiple disciplines in Council to work towards delivering projects and maintaining Council’s assets.

With approximately 500 buildings owned by Council, you will be responsible for:

  • creation of signage, banners and related items in the sign shop for our buildings and other infrastructure
  • providing advice and instructions, and supervising the training of apprentices. 

Qualifications and experience

Essential:

  • Trades Certificate in a related field
  • Demonstrated commitment to customer service
  • Ability to work within a team environment
  • Computer literacy
  • Current class C driver's licence.

Desirable:

  • Post Trade or Advanced Certificate in a related area
  • Experience with Flexi software
  • Experience in wrapping vinyl
  • Experience in the production of banners
  • Experience with Adobe software.

Remuneration and benefits

The salary and conditions of employment are in accordance with Blacktown City Council’s Enterprise Agreement.

  • Entry level for this position starts at $1,316.09 per week
  • 38-hour working week
  • Rostered Day Off (RDO) every fortnight
  • Employee benefits such as leave entitlements (where applicable), 11.5% employer contribution payable to your nominated superannuation fund, Fitness Passport, gym membership discounts, and social clubs.
