About the opportunity
We are seeking an enthusiastic, self-driven and reliable individual to join our Asset Planning and Support team as an Asset Inspector on a permanent, full time basis with a focus area on civil assets.
This position is predominantly in the field undertaking ongoing audits of Council's infrastructure assets and work closely with the Asset Engineers and other relevant officers in preserving and maintaining the desired level of service for Council's roads, footpaths and stormwater assets.
You will be assisting the Asset Engineers in ensuring Council's asset register is up to date, and undertaking risk and condition assessments.
Qualifications and experience
Essential:
- TAFE Certificate of trade or equivalent in a relevant field
- Extensive relevant experience in infrastructure maintenance of nominated focus area infrastructure
- Current class C driver’s licence.
Desirable:
- Experience in the use of ESRI GIS software
- Knowledge of surveying and GPS equipment
- Experience in the use of mobile field applications
- Demonstrated commitment to customer service
- Ability to work within a team environment
- Availability to work flexible working hours
- Understanding and demonstrated experience in asset collection, risk management and condition assessment
- Staff and contractor supervision experience
- Proficiency in use of and application of computers and computer packages including, Microsoft Word, Excel, GIS and mobile field applications
- WorkCover approved General Induction for Construction Work in NSW
- Experience in TechnologyOne including CiAnywhere.
Remuneration and benefits
The salary and conditions of employment are in accordance with Blacktown City Council’s Enterprise Agreement.
- Entry level for this position starts at $1,622.73 per week, plus an additional $167.49 per week as per Council’s flexibility agreement
- 41-hour working week
- Rostered Day Off (RDO) every fortnight
- Leaseback vehicle
