About the opportunity
We have a great opportunity for an experienced and motivated Building Surveyor to join our team as the Senior Coordinator Building Assessment and Certification on a permanent, full-time basis.
Customer service is our core value, and you will be responsible for mentoring and managing our team of professional Building Surveyors in:
- assessing Construction Certificates, Complying Development Certificates and Development Applications
- carrying out our role as Principal Certifier
- providing BCA advice on referrals for large scale Development Applications
- providing general building surveying advice
You will work with closely with other sections, and assist the manager in reporting, process reviews, and responding to Councillors, executive and other customers.
Qualifications and experience
Essential:
- Degree in Building Surveying or related field
- Minimum 10 years’ experience in Building Surveying or a related field
- Current class C driver’s licence
- Accreditation as an Accredited Certifier issued by the Building Professionals Board, minimum A3
- Sound knowledge of Microsoft products
- Extensive knowledge of applicable legislation/regulations
- Exceptional verbal and written communication skills
- Demonstrated commitment to customer service
- Ability to manage a team of professional building surveyors
- Ability to work within a team environment
- Availability to work flexible working hours.
Desirable:
- Accreditation as an Accredited Certifier of A1- Accredited Certifier- Building Surveyor Grade 1 (unconditional)
- Sound user knowledge of TechOne corporate software and EDM system.
Remuneration and benefits
The salary and conditions of employment are in accordance with Blacktown City Council’s Enterprise Agreement.
- Entry level for this position starts at $2,642.87 per week
- 35-hour working week
