Our Key Venues section oversees all of our aquatic and leisure centres. We deliver first-class activity and program choice, we promote Blacktown City as the leader in sport, recreation and leisure. Our squad program is offered at Blacktown Aquatic Centre. We are currently seeking motivated and enthusiastic individuals who share a passion for swimming and water safety to join our team.
Swim Squad Coaches are responsible for the delivery of our award winning squad program. Our team of dedicated instructors will embrace the philosophy of providing a safe, rewarding and educational experience to all participants. We offer coaches casual and flexible hours including before and after school, weekends and school holidays, as well as access to discounts for programs and services across the 5 aquatic and leisure centres.

Position purpose:
The role involves:
- providing consistent and exceptional customer services and support to our students and their families
- time management of class programming and meeting program outcomes
- attending scheduled in service training and team meetings for ongoing professional development
- promoting the importance of swimming and water safety through to our diverse community members.
Qualifications and experience
Essential:
- Swim Australia™ Teacher of Competitive Strokes or ASCTA Bronze Coaching licence
- Current CPR Certificate
- Current Working with Children Check (WWCC)
- Excellent Oral Communication
- Excellent Customer Service.
Desirable:
- Current First Aid
- Pool Lifeguard Award
- Oxygen Equipment Certificate
- Coaching/teaching experience
- Ability to work within a team environment
- Availability to work flexible working hours
- Current class C driver’s licence.
Remuneration and benefits
The salary and conditions of employment are in accordance with Blacktown City Council’s Enterprise Agreement.
- Entry level for this role starts at $30.4424 per hour plus 25% casual loading
- Penalty rates apply for weekend shifts
- Employee benefits such as leave entitlements (where applicable), 11.5% employer contribution payable to your nominated superannuation fund, Fitness Passport, gym membership discounts, and social clubs.
This position has been identified as child-related work, in accordance with the Child Protection (Working with Children) Regulation 2013.
