About the opportunity

We are looking for motivated individuals currently, undertaking a university degree in Engineering or Project Management to join our Transformational Projects Program team as a Student Project Support on a term contract, part-time basis for up to 4 years.

These roles are primarily responsible for the Western Sydney Infrastructure Grant (WSIG) and Office Accommodations Transformational Projects program management duties related to the delivery of the WSIG program and other projects within the Transformational Projects Program as required.

The successful candidate will be responsible for:

  • Provide Engineering project management support to the Transformational Projects Program Office
  • Providing assistance on preparation of consultancy engagement brief
  • Maintaining various project registers
  • Supporting and maintaining strong working relationships with internal and external stakeholders
  • The provision of information, as directed, to Council staff and the general public
  • Supporting the delivery of the Directorate’s key objectives as directed.
  • Continued progression of enrolled relevant tertiary studies, as agreed in conditions of employment, with
    a minimum study workload.

Qualifications and experience

Essential:

  • Currently undertaking a university degree in Engineering or Project management
  • Proven skills in Office packages like MS Excel, MS Word, MS Project etc
  • Strong analytical and communication skills
  • Ability to work in a team environment.

Desirable:

  • Experience working with Engineering or Project Management office
  • Experience in the documentation and delivery of projects
  • Knowledge of applicable legislation/regulations
  • Current driver's licence
  • Availability to work flexible working hours.

Remuneration and benefits

The salary and conditions of employment are in accordance with Blacktown City Council’s Enterprise Agreement.

  • Trainee rates apply to this position 
  • 21-hour working week
