About the opportunity
We are currently seeking a Communications and Marketing Assistant on a permanent, full-time basis. This role is an integral part of our award-winning Communications and Marketing team. Working alongside all members of the team, the Assistant provides invaluable support on all pillars of our strategic communications plan.
A sound understanding of digital and print channels, web publishing, and email marketing are essential, as is a confident professional demeanour and the ability to interact with stakeholders.
Qualifications and experience
Essential:
- Certificate III in Business Administration, Media, Marketing, Public Relations or equivalent
- Available to work outside ordinary hours in order to support Mayoral and Council commitments and formal events as required
- Current class C driver's licence.
Desirable:
- Tertiary qualifications in Communications, Public Relations, Journalism or associated fields
- Demonstrated commitment to customer service
- Ability to work within a team environment
- Availability to work flexible working hours including providing support to Council outside of ordinary hours.
Remuneration and benefits
The salary and conditions of employment are in accordance with Blacktown City Council’s Enterprise Agreement.
- Entry level for this position starts at $1,408.84 per week
- 35-hour working week
- Opportunity to participate in Council's flextime arrangement
