About the opportunity

We are seeking a dynamic individual to join our team on a permanent, full-time basis to maintain and manage our websites, ensuring a positive user experience and the effective online delivery of information and services.

This role requires technical expertise in web development and maintenance, along with front-end development skills to improve the website’s design and usability. It also involves ensuring the timeliness and accuracy of Council’s website(s) by consulting with key stakeholders, and providing high-quality training, guidance, and support to ensure all users across the organisation follow established procedures and conventions.

Qualifications and experience

Essential:

  • Diploma qualifications in Marketing and Communications or in a related field
  • Solid experience in website administration, analysis, and strategy development
  • Solid experience as a website administrator
  • Proficiency in web development technologies (HTML, CSS, JavaScript), content management systems (CMS), and server administration
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills for interacting with various stakeholders
  • Ability to identify and resolve technical issues, troubleshoot problems, and implement solutions
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks, prioritize work, and meet deadlines
  • Understanding of web accessibility guidelines and best practices
  • Ability to negotiate and identify possible outcomes with a range of stakeholders.

Desirable:

  • Strong understanding of local government operations and/or local government database management
  • Previous business partner experience with the ability to cultivate and maintain positive relationships at supervisor and senior management level
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Experience working with customer relationship management systems, TechnologyOne or another large ERP system..

Remuneration and benefits

The salary and conditions of employment are in accordance with Blacktown City Council’s Enterprise Agreement.

  • Entry level for this position starts at $2,078.51 per week
  • 35-hour working week 
  • Opportunity to participate in Council's flextime arrangement
