About the opportunity
Do you have a strong background in Sports Turf maintenance and a passion for preparing top-quality sporting fields? Are you ready to help shape the playing grounds for our future champions? If so, we would love to hear from you.
With approximately 160 individual sporting fields in our city and a rapidly expanding sportsfield network, we are looking for a highly motivated individual to work within a small team on a permanent, full-time basis to maintain our sportsfields in accordance with service level requirements and schedules.
You will be responsible for all aspects of sportsfield maintenance including turf installation, fertilisation, line marking, seasonal changeover, mowing, litter removal, and pesticide application. You may also assist with the upkeep of other recreational areas.

Qualifications and experience
Essential:
- Previous experience in maintaining public open space areas and public assets including, sportsfields, parks and reserves, nature strips etc
- Current class C driver’s licence.
Desirable:
- Class MR driver’s licence
- Demonstrated commitment to customer service
- Ability to work within a team environment
- Certificate lll Chemical application accreditation
- Chainsaw accreditation
- Available to work reasonable amount of overtime as required.
Remuneration and benefits
The salary and conditions of employment are in accordance with Blacktown City Council’s Enterprise Agreement.
- Entry level for this position starts at $1,197.30 per week
- 38-hour working week
- Rostered Day Off (RDO) every fortnight
