About the opportunity

We have an exciting opportunity for a Project and Support Officer to join our Blacktown Arts team on a term contract, full-time basis for up to 12 months. The Project and Support Officer provides high level administration and project support to the Arts and Cultural Development section. The position is customer-focused, providing exceptional service and a welcoming environment to staff, visitors, artists and contractors.
Duties for the role include, but is not limited to, the preparation of documentation, procurement, coordination of meetings, minute taking and distribution of business papers, bookings and payments, customer enquiries, invitation and RSVP lists, event set-up, arrangement of catering and will be a liaison for artists, suppliers and visitors. An ideal candidate will be experienced in arts administration and projects, who can provide the professional and customer focused support required to assist the team in the delivery of our programs.
Qualifications and experience
Essential:
- Suitable relevant experience in an administrative or project team role
- Relevant tertiary qualifications in administration or project management
- Demonstrated commitment to delivery of excellent customer service
- High level computer literacy skill, especially Microsoft Office suite
- Proven administration, organisational and problem-solving skills
- Proven capacity to work in a high-pressure team environment with competing demands
- Working with Children Check valid for paid work.
Desirable:
- Previous experience in an arts environment or demonstrable interest/participation in the arts industry
- Experience working in local government
Remuneration and benefits
The salary and conditions of employment are in accordance with Blacktown City Council’s Enterprise Agreement.
- Entry level for this position starts at $1,362.15 per week
- 35-hour working week
- Opportunity to participate in Council's flextime arrangement
