About the opportunity
We are currently offering 3 x permanent, full-time positions and 1 x term contract, full-time position (up to 12 months) for qualified professionals to join our team at the Rooty Hill Depot, supporting the maintenance, repair and servicing of our growing fleet of vehicles and plant.
As our fleet continues to expand rapidly, successful candidates will be responsible for:
- Performing repairs and servicing on Council vehicles and plant equipment, always prioritising safety and the wellbeing of colleagues
- Carrying out maintenance tasks in accordance with industry standards
- Ensuring compliance with all relevant statutory regulations and understanding the implications of non-compliance.
Qualifications and experience
Essential:
- NSW Government Tradespersons Certificate - Heavy Vehicle Mechanic
- Suitable experience in a similar role
- Minimum class HR driver licence
- Demonstrated commitment to customer service
- Ability to work within a team environment.
Desirable
- Current class HC driver licence
- Post trade qualifications and experience in this specialised trade including heavy vehicle RMS Pink Slip Accreditation, fitting / turning and knowledge of pumps
- Computer literate.
Remuneration and benefits
The salary and conditions of employment are in accordance with Blacktown City Council’s Enterprise Agreement.
- Entry level for this position starts at $1,362.15 per week, plus an additional 21.8% in accordance with Council's Workshop Flexibility Agreement
- 76-hour working fortnight
- Rotating shift hours
- Rostered Day Off (RDO) every fortnight
