About the opportunity

We are seeking an experienced and self-motivated professional passionate about WSUD asset management to join our team on a term contract, full-time basis for up to 4 years. 

Key responsibilities include:

  • conducting field inspections
  • assessing asset condition and risk
  • refining handover processes
  • driving continuous improvement.

You will collaborate closely with the Asset Engineer to support renewal forecasting, maintenance planning, and budget submissions. 

Qualifications and experience

Essential:

  • Tertiary qualifications in civil or environmental engineering, or TAFE Certificate of trade or equivalent in a relevant field
  • Experience in the construction and maintenance of WSUD assets
  • Demonstrated experience in the establishment, handover and maintenance of WSUD assets
  • Demonstrated experience in the interpretation of WSUD design and specifications
  • Demonstrated ability to work with key stakeholders to solve problems
  • Demonstrated ability to communicate clearly and effectively with a wide range of stakeholders
  • Demonstrated interpersonal skills with an ability to work in a team environment
  • Demonstrated commitment to customer service
  • Class C driver’s licence.

Desirable:

  • Relevant local government experience
  • Experience in the use of ESRI GIS software
  • Experience in the use of mobile field applications
  • Availability to work flexible working hours
  • Understanding and demonstrated experience in asset collection, risk management and condition assessment
  • Staff and contractor supervision experience
  • Proficiency in use of and application of computers and computer packages including, Microsoft Word, Excel, GIS and mobile field applications
  • WorkCover approved General Induction for Construction Work in NSW
  • Experience in TechnologyOne including CiAnywhere.

Remuneration and benefits

The salary and conditions of employment are in accordance with Blacktown City Council’s Enterprise Agreement.

  • Entry level for this position starts at $1,679.52 per week, plus an additional 10.32% per week as per Council’s flexibility agreement 
  • 41-hour working week 
  • Rostered Day Off (RDO) every fortnight
  • Employee benefits such as leave entitlements (where applicable), 12% employer contribution payable to your nominated superannuation fund, Fitness Passport, gym membership discounts, and social clubs.
