About the opportunity

We are excited to collaborate with universities across NSW to offer an exciting opportunity for 6 engineering students in their third or fourth year of study to gain valuable hands-on experience. 

As a Vacation Student Engineer, you will work on a part-time basis for up to 12 weeks, working within either our Civil Asset Maintenance or Asset Planning and Support sections. This is a unique opportunity that offers a chance to build highly regarded industry and local government experience, working alongside experienced professionals in Asset and Civil Maintenance Engineering. 

If you are currently in your third and fourth year of a Civil Engineering degree (or a related discipline) and eager to gain work experience in your field of study, we strongly encourage you to apply!

Qualifications and experience

Essential:

  • Currently enrolled as a third or fourth year student, with the intention of completing relevant qualifications in Civil Engineering or a related discipline
  • Knowledge of applicable legislation/regulations
  • Computer Literate.

Desirable: 

  • Class C driver’s licence.

Remuneration and benefits

The salary and conditions of employment are in accordance with Blacktown City Council’s Enterprise Agreement.

  • Trainee rates apply
  • 21-hour working week
