About the opportunity

We are seeking motivated and reliable Working Drivers to join our Civil Asset Maintenance team on a permanent, full-time basis.

As part of this team, you will play a vital role in delivering safe, efficient, and cost-effective road and drainage maintenance services. Your work will help ensure our community’s infrastructure remains functional and accessible, with minimal disruption to the public.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Safely driving trucks to and from work sites
  • Maintaining and repairing drainage structures
  • Restoring failed road pavements and footpaths
  • Operating minor plant equipment
  • Using hand, power, and air tools to complete tasks effectively
  • Undertaking both programmed and reactive works to meet operational needs.

Qualifications and experience

Essential:

  • Extensive experience in driving trucks in all facets of civil construction/maintenance including cleaning and repair of drainage structures, construction and restoration of road pavements/footpaths and K&G
  • Experience in operating minor plant
  • Sound knowledge of the functions of road and drainage maintenance activities
  • Class MR Licence
  • Appropriate WorkCover Certificates and Licences.

Desirable:

  • Motivated team player and able to demonstrate leadership in decision-making
  • Knowledge of applicable legislation/regulations
  • Availability to work overtime as required.

Remuneration and benefits

The salary and conditions of employment are in accordance with Blacktown City Council’s Enterprise Agreement.

  • Entry level for this position starts at $1,197.30 per week
  • 38-hour working week
  • Rostered Day Off (RDO) every fortnight
  • Employee benefits such as leave entitlements (where applicable), 12% employer contribution payable to your nominated superannuation fund, Fitness Passport, gym membership discounts, and social clubs.
