About the opportunity
We have two exciting permanent, full‑time opportunities available for experienced Rangers to join our fast‑paced Community Law Enforcement team. In this role, you will deliver a wide range of services and regulatory controls in accordance with governing legislation.
This position will be responsible for providing a range of services, and controls required by governing legislation. You will carry out Council’s regulatory functions for various Acts for which the incumbent is authorised and detect breaches as appropriate. This role will investigate matters including, but not limited to, abandoned vehicles, heavy vehicle matters, illegal dumping, and overgrown/unhealthy properties.
An ideal candidate will have strong customer service and well-developed problem-solving skills.
Qualifications and experience
Essential:
- Relevant local government experience in a similar capacity
- Provision of a wide range of skills applicable to the position
- Current class C driver's licence
- Clearance of National Police Check.
Desirable:
- Certificate IV in Local Government (Regulatory Services)
- Sound knowledge and experience managing animal issues in the urban environment
- Knowledge of relevant issues and applicable legislation/regulations
- Computer-literate with proficiency in the use of Microsoft products such as Word and Excel
- Demonstrated ability to schedule and coordinate own work activities
- Demonstrated analytical and problem-solving skills.
Remuneration and benefits
The salary and conditions of employment are in accordance with Blacktown City Council’s Enterprise Agreement.
- Entry level for this position starts at $1,408.84 per week
- 76-hour working fortnight
- Rostered Day Off (RDO) every fortnight
- Leaseback vehicle
