About the opportunity

We have an exciting permanent, full-time opportunity for an experienced and resilient Maintenance Tradesperson to join our Civil Operations team.

In this role, you will contribute directly to our vision of becoming the best Council in Australia. You will play a key part in delivering high‑quality services to our community and take a leading role in maintaining and improving our civil assets. 

Qualifications and experience

Essential:

  • Must hold a Trade certificate
  • Extensive experience in the installation and maintenance of street furniture including signs, bus shelters, Armco safety railing and other structures
  • Experience in supervising labourers, plant operators and sub-Contractors
  • Sound knowledge of the functions of road and drainage maintenance activities
  • Experience in operating minor plant
  • Current class MR drivers licence
  • Appropriate Work Cover Certificates and Licences.

Remuneration and benefits

The salary and conditions of employment are in accordance with Blacktown City Council’s Enterprise Agreement.

  • Entry level for this position starts at $1,362.15 per week
  • 38-hour working week
  • Rostered Day Off (RDO) every fortnight
