About the opportunity
An exciting opportunity exists for an experienced and motivated CAD Administrator to join our Asset Design section on a permanent, full-time basis.
In this role, you will provide support to the drainage design team, including preparation of engineering plans using AUTOCAD, preparation of graphic materials for presentations, and maintaining registers of plans and documents. You will help ensure these activities are delivered in accordance with legislative requirements, Council policies and best‑practice frameworks.
This role is ideal for an organised and collaborative individual with experience in road and drainage design projects, including large detention basins, water quality improvement system and trunk stormwater drainage lines.
Qualifications and experience
Essential:
- Certificate III in Civil Engineering Design, Engineering Drafting, CAD Drafting or a related field
- Current class C driver’s licence
- A minimum of five (5) years’ experience in the preparation and presentation of civil engineering plans together with computer aided drafting techniques and programs e.g. AUTOCAD.
Desirable:
- Knowledge in the use of GIS Computer Mapping Software
- Ability to communicate in both verbal and written forms
- Knowledge of applicable legislation/regulations
- Computer literate
- Demonstrated commitment to customer service
- Ability to work within a team environment
- Availability to work flexible working hours.
Remuneration and benefits
The salary and conditions of employment are in accordance with Blacktown City Council’s Enterprise Agreement.
- Entry level for this position starts at $1,408.84 per week
- 35-hour working week
