We are currently seeking experienced and motivated Professional Drivers to join our team on a casual basis. This is an excellent opportunity to expand your skills, enjoy stable and meaningful work, and achieve a balanced lifestyle.
As a Professional Driver, you will play a vital role in delivering high‑quality waste management services across the city. Your responsibilities will include:
- Safely operating Council vehicles equipped with modern telematics systems
- Collecting residential and commercial waste and maintaining bin infrastructure
- Completing daily run sheets and reporting operational issues
- Working collaboratively with the Waste Services leadership team to ensure efficient service delivery.
Qualifications and experience
Essential:
- Customer service experience
- Well-developed communication skills
- Demonstrated ability to work safely and unsupervised
- Ability to locate properties using systems such as Google Maps, TechOne, Telematics, Global Positioning
- System (GPS), directions and signage
- Class HR driver’s licence.
Desirable:
- Previous experience in waste management collection and/or removal or similar field
- Previous experience in using Telematics system and Global Positioning System (GPS).
Remuneration and benefits
The salary and conditions of employment are in accordance with Blacktown City Council’s Enterprise Agreement.
- Entry level for this position starts at $38.0889 per hour, plus 25% casual loading
- Casual working hours
- Employee benefits such as leave entitlements (where applicable), 12% employer contribution payable to your nominated superannuation fund, Fitness Passport, gym membership discounts, and social clubs.
