About the opportunity
Council has an exciting opportunity for an experienced Coordinator Payroll Services, on permanent, full-time basis. This role will lead Council’s payroll team and ensure the timely and accurate delivery of payroll services across the organisation.
You will play a key role in ensuring payroll is delivered within strict timeframes while maintaining high standards of accuracy and compliance. You will also drive a strong customer focus, ensuring all employees receive responsive and reliable payroll support.
This position offers the chance to lead continuous improvement. You will review existing systems and processes and implement practical changes that lift efficiency, strengthen service delivery and support future growth.

Qualifications and experience
Essential:
- Relevant university degree in Human Resources, Finance, Business or equivalent
- Extensive practical experience in all relevant areas gained in a similar role
- Track record of driving positive systematic change, process improvement and initiatives that have strengthened both payroll and service delivery
- Knowledge of applicable legislation/regulations
- Demonstrated commitment to customer service
- Ability to work within a team environment.
Desirable:
- Extensive leadership skills
- Knowledge and experience in TechnologyOne
- Availability to work flexible working hours.
Remuneration and benefits
The salary and conditions of employment are in accordance with Blacktown City Council’s Enterprise Agreement.
- Entry level for this position starts at $2,252.09 per week
- 35-hour working week
