General Tradesperson x 2
Job No:
BC3607
Location:
Blacktown, NSW
Work that matters, done with people who care.
As a General Tradesperson, you maintain around 500 Council buildings across Blacktown, including community centres, offices and other Council owned facilities. Each day involves completing repairs that keep these spaces safe, functional and ready for public use.
The role involves hands on building maintenance across multiple sites. This includes repairing plaster and gyprock walls, fixing tiles, completing small concreting jobs, repairing fencing and gates, and handling basic landscaping work.
You respond to work orders, move between locations and prioritise urgent issues as they arise. Working closely with other trades, you share tools, coordinate tasks and help deliver jobs efficiently. You also support apprentices on site, helping them apply their trade skills safely.
You follow Council standards and safety procedures on every job, using tools and equipment correctly and completing required records. Clear updates on work progress keep jobs moving and teams informed.
At Blacktown City Council, good people make great teams – and great teams build great cities. Here, you will find the stability and support to keep growing, along with:
- a secure, permanent role with one of Australia's largest councils
- an entry level salary commencing at $1,362.15 per week
- a 38-hour working week
- a Rostered Day Off (RDO) every fortnight
- 12% superannuation and competitive leave entitlements
- ongoing training and development support
- access to Fitness Passport, social clubs and wellbeing programs.
