Location:
Blacktown, NSW
Lead with purpose. Shape progress for a growing city.
An exciting career opportunity exists within Council’s Accounts team to help balance and reconcile the financial processes that support services across Blacktown City.
As an Accounts Administrator, you process creditor and debtor invoices, prepare payment runs, raise and issue debtor invoices, complete general ledger reconciliations and maintain accurate financial records. You assist with debt recovery activities, respond to correspondence relating to legal matters, prepare statistics and reconciliations for reporting, and support daily banking, cash receipting, refunds and journal entries. You also contribute to system testing, process documentation and improvements to Council’s business systems.
You work closely with colleagues across Council, providing reliable administrative and financial support. The work is varied, practical and detail focused. By keeping financial transactions accurate and up to date, you help ensure Council’s financial processes operate efficiently and information is available for reporting and decision-making.
You work alongside people who value doing things properly and delivering outcomes the community can rely on. In return, you enjoy stable, secure employment, career development opportunities with one of NSW’s most progressive councils, and the chance to make a meaningful contribution through your work every day.
This role suits someone who is practical, accurate and organised, with experience in accounts, finance or administration and a commitment to customer service and teamwork.
At Blacktown City Council, good people make great teams, and great teams build great cities. Here, you will find the stability and support to keep growing, along with:
- a secure, permanent, part-time role with one of Australia's largest councils
- an entry level salary commencing at $1,566.66 per week, pro-rata
- a 14-hour working week
- 12% superannuation and competitive leave entitlements
- ongoing training and development support
- access to Fitness Passport, social clubs and wellbeing programs.
